Another meeting for the books! Were you stressed that you missed this meeting? If so, you can ask any attendee for helpful tips on de-stressing – keep reading for more!
SPOTLIGHT SPEAKER: This month’s Spotlight Speaker was Taylor Hart with The Salvation Army of Jackson, asking for walkers and runners to join them for The Salvation Army’s Labor of Love 5K/10K Walk and Run to support victims of domestic violence. KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Scotta Brady, Stress Management Specialist and Certified Yoga Therapist with St. Dominic Hospital. Scotta really couldn’t have come at a better time to speak with this group of go-getters. After shuffling off kids to the start of school, our focus now shifts on the upcoming holidays, piled on top of everything else we need to do in a day. Not only did we learn some breathing exercises, we stretched our way through helpful relaxation techniques that can be performed at your desk, in addition to a little guided meditation (erm, can she come back every month???). Thanks again to Scotta and her team for speaking! #deskcobra
ON THE MENU: The food offerings this month were definitely up my alley! Mixed green salad with dill dressing, chicken tortilla soup, and loaded baked potatoes (topped with cheese, green onions, ham, and turkey – am I dreaming??), washed down with peach infused water. For dessert, and yes, dessert was so good it gets its own sentence: a caramel brownie topped with smaller, cubed brownies (I am dreaming – BROWNIE INCEPTION), chopped nuts, and chocolate sauce! Gurl.
